Growing up on a farm in Minnesota, Kelsey was exposed to birth early in her life. Her mother bred and showed Arabian horses and Golden Retrievers, and Kelsey was her mother's birthing assistant, or a Doula to these animals who were bringing their babies into the world. Fast forward to 2022, Kelsey became pregnant with her first daughter and found herself studying birth again, which led her to become a Certified DONA Birth Doula and Certified Hypnobirthing Educator. She supported multiple families while pregnant before giving birth herself. What she learned through the process was how much fear people tended to have around birth, which often led to traumatic birthing stories, but Kelsey was living proof it didn't have to be that way. She gave birth to her first daughter in a hospital without any medical intervention, and when she became pregnant again in 2024, she gave birth peacefully at home in water. To Kelsey, birth is an empowering experience, and the process leading up to it is a full initiation into parenthood. It is her greatest joy to support families during this important transition and help bring more peace to birthing stories.
